Program overview

In a work environment in which employees experience several changes of career during their work life it is often beneficial to acquire different skills sets or knowledge. To this end, the Graduate Diploma in Arts recognises an opportunity to value add to existing qualifications by adding a suite of eight thematically based courses in a particular area of relevance to the student. This program affords students the opportunity to follow interests to enhance quality of life aspirations and satisfy curiosity driven study in an efficient and effective manner.

Admission requirements

A student entering the Graduate Diploma program will normally be required to hold an undergraduate degree, or equivalent, from a recognised higher education institution. Entry by non-graduates who have extensive relevant industry experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Minimum English language requirements also apply.

Program structure

Eight 12 unit courses or equivalent that constitute a Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences major or two complementary minors.

When selecting courses within a major, select no more than two introductory (100 level) course, with the exception of the Counselling major. Choose courses from the following majors: *

Program requirements

  1. Eight 12-unit courses or equivalent that constitute a Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences major or two complementary minors:
    1. no more than two introductory level (100 level) courses to be included in the major with the exception of the Counselling major;
    2. no more than one introductory level (100 level) course to be included in each minor with the exception of Creative Advertising, Indonesian, Italian or Japanese minors.
  • Blue card may be required depending on courses chosen.
  • Only a full-time study option is available to international students.
