Student Handbook, Semester 1, 2010: Journalism

Major

For a major in Journalism, students must successfully complete 8 courses:

CMN130 Research Project 3
CMN213 Research Project 4
CMN214 Practicum Placement 4
CMN227 Research in Health Care
CMN228 Public Health Foundations
CMN235 Quantitative Research Methods
CMN237 Epidemiology and Biostatistics
CMN272 Health Promotion Principles

Students are required to apply to be accepted to undertake a journalism major. The prerequisite for a journalism major is CMN102 (or CMN100 ) plus INT140 . In addition, students will be required to attend a selection interview. Acceptance into a Journalism major may not be confirmed to students until the end of their second year of full-time study or equivalent. Students not accepted to undertake a Journalism major, may be eligible for a Communication Studies major.
