Our program provides you with competitive marketing strategies and you’ll learn how and why people consume buy goods and services.

Develop your understanding of consumer behaviour, integrated marketing communications, services marketing, social marketing, market analysis and brand management and gain knowledge in specialist areas with the International Marketing, Food Marketing and Sport Marketing courses. You also have the option to diversify your studies through choosing electives in other areas of Business and other Faculties.

You will learn from experienced and dedicated marketing professionals, and complete practical work-related projects in association with industry to be job-ready by graduation. You can also choose the Business Internship course as an elective to work with real clients and gain valuable industry experience and contacts and also study overseas.

Our degree allows you to work in any industry, anywhere in the world, in fields such as brand management, service design, marketing strategy, product development and the many areas of digital and non-digital marketing communication. Our students are in demand and are even employed even before they graduate. Our graduates have provided marketing for many local organisations, as well as larger clients; such as BMW, Crown Lager, Holden, Tourism Queensland, Olay, L'Oréal Paris and Victoria Bitter. Other graduates have started their own businesses with one, Chris Raine, gaining Commonwealth funding for his community platform, Hello Sunday Morning. What will you do when you graduate?

In order to graduate you must:

  • Successfully complete 288 units as outlined in the Program Structure
  • Complete no more than 10 introductory level (100 coded) courses.
Program notes
  • Completing this program within the specified (full-time) duration is based on studying 48 unit points per semester (normally 4 courses)
  • Most courses are valued at 12 units unless otherwise specified
  • Courses within this program are assessed using a variety of assessment methods which may include essays, seminar presentations, reports, in-class tests and examinations
  • As part of your USC program, you may apply to Study Overseas to undertake courses with an overseas higher education provider
