The Seaweed Research Group is a multi-disciplinary and passionate group of leading experts producing world-class seaweed research with the aim of improving environmental, economic and social outcomes.
We are excited to be developing our own Asparagopsis Genomics Portal (AGP) as a freely available resource for researchers and scientists globally interested in the Asparagopsis genome.
This work is funded by the Australian Research Council Discovery Project DP200103013.
What's next?
Stay tuned for release of the Asparagopsis Genome Browser in 2023. There will be many other searchable datasets include gene names and ID, KEGG pathways, protein families, Pfam domains and gene ontology. Functional annotations, gene assembly and sequences will also be available for free download.
As we continue our journey of discovery, we will be posting our insights and new papers on this multi-omics database platform. We invite you to explore Asparagopsis taxiformis genetics with us to help further seaweed research and its wide range of benefits for the planet and those who inhabit it.
