To assist elite and emerging athletes to achieve in tertiary education and high performance sport.
The UniSC SportSmart Scholarship supports higher education opportunities for eligible UniSC students who are combining their first year of tertiary study with high performance sport commitments. The scholarship is intended to recognise, reward and encourage sporting and academic excellence. The scholarship will be available to students commencing their first year of study at UniSC who have demonstrated very high sporting and academic achievement.

Scholarship payments will be made approximately three weeks after Census Date of the relevant Semester, once enrolment has been confirmed.
- Eligibility
- Students commencing their first undergraduate degree program who have been accepted into the UniSC High Performance Student Athlete (HPSA) Program
- Enrolled full-time or part-time in 2 or more courses
- A Permanent Resident of Australia, Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or Permanent Australian Humanitarian Visa holder
Note: Students who have completed any courses as part of an undergraduate Bachelor level program will not be eligible.
- Selection criteria
- Very high sporting achievement as identified by:
- Recognition by the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), a State/Territory Institute of Sport (e.g. QAS) or Professional Players Association
- Membership of a national senior squad from an Athlete Career and Education (ACE) support sport
- Membership of a national level squad in open or age level competition in a sport recognised by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC)
- Membership of a state or national level development squad in a sport recognised by the ASC
- A national or international level coach or referee in an ASC recognised sport
- High academic achievement as identified by ATAR or equivalent tertiary rank (minimum ATAR 89 or equivalent)
- Potential to enhance the UniSC student experience through leadership and engagement initiatives
- Very high sporting achievement as identified by:
