Grow your own regional workforce
A specialised course designed to assist you with the process to develop a regional workforce plan. This approach may be informed by regional economic development strategies. Regional Jobs Committees and Local Government Economic Development teams are encouraged to register.
The Workforce Planning for Regions Course is delivered in partnership with Jobs Queensland, and proudly supported by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training.
Eligibility requirements
Queensland Local Government team members and Regional Jobs Committee stakeholders are encouraged to register. Additionally, anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of developing a regional workforce plan are welcome.

Course Information
The content is delivered as a series of 7 x weekly workshops or as a 2-day intensive. The schedule includes learning the fundamentals of developing a regional workforce plan.
Topics covered will include regional stakeholder planning and analysis, creating a regional labour market profile and identifying regional workforce supply and demand dynamics.
Gain certification and credit
Participating in this course is a great way to experience what it is like to study at University and open up a pathway into a higher-level qualification. Upon successful completion, participants receive a UniSC Certificate of Completion and gain credit* for one elective course towards UniSC’s Graduate Certificate in Business Administration. For those in the health sector, the course credit may be applied to UniSC's Graduate Certificate in Health Sector Leadership.
*To be eligible for a course credit, participants need to submit both pieces of assessment to an acceptable standard. Please note, a maximum of two (2) course credits can be used towards the elective courses in the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration and the Graduate Certificate in Health Sector Leadership for eligible health sector employees.

The course is offered for FREE. However, participants attending in-person are responsible for covering expenses such as accommodation, flights, transportation and additional meals.
