Fees, costs and scholarships

Costs

The University subsidises the tuition fees for domestic* Headstart students. Commencing Headstart students will not be charged a course contribution fee for the first course they complete. If they choose to complete subsequent courses the course contribution fee will be A$400 for each subsequent course.

The Sunshine Coast Alliance schools may approve a limited number of international Headstart students at the same fees as domestic students. If not approved through the Sunshine Coast Alliance, international students will be charged the international visiting fee which is A$2875 per course. Speak with your school's Headstart Coordinator to see if you may be eligible for an Alliance place in Headstart.

You should allow for additional costs of textbooks, photocopying, printing, travel and any other study-related costs. Joining the on-campus Co-op Bookshop brings a discount on textbooks and stationery.

*Domestic students include Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents and Permanent Humanitarian visa holders.

Scholarships

A number of scholarships are available to domestic Headstart students^ which cover the $400 course contribution fee that applies to the second, third and fourth Headstart course (the first Headstart course has no course contribution fee).

Headstart scholarships assist students from low-income families, or students who identify with other recognised equity groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, or students with a disability.

To apply for a scholarship, complete the ‘Headstart Scholarship’ section on the Headstart application form (refer to How to apply), and ensure you provide all the supporting documentation.

^Non-domestic students are not eligible for Headstart scholarships.

Paying your tuition fees

Once you are enrolled, you can access and print your online invoice for tuition fees via USC Central. Your invoice will detail the fee owing, the due date and your payment options. You will need to generate this invoice online — it will not be posted to you.

The due date for payment is the end of the third week of classes.
