The Master of Wetlands Management by Research equips you, as a practitioner, to more effectively assess and manage the predicted effects of pressures and change on the natural and economic productivity of wetlands.

Growing awareness of the vulnerability of wetland systems due to natural and human forcing factors such as global warming, increasing human population and rapid changes in the location and size of human settlements, provides a major stimulus for research. Professional development through research training helps to build your capacity to assess and manage wetlands, and to meet rapidly emerging governmental, commercial and societal needs.

Through your research, develop an appreciation of international trends in assessment and management of both coastal and inland wetlands systems. Gain a better understanding of international and national obligations and commitments to wetlands management. Enhance your skills using integrated adaptive assessment and management tools and techniques. Discover how to proactively address the implications of climatic and environmental change, and the associated hazards and risks that apply to environmental and natural resources management and the ecosystems services offered by wetlands.
