Program overview
This program provides students with a sound grounding in second language acquisition theories, foreign language teaching methodologies, English grammar aspects, English language use and research paradigms in TESOL. It enables students to begin employment in the ESL sector with adequate theoretical knowledge and practical experience, and familiarises them with key research issues.
Admission requirements
Students should hold an undergraduate degree in any field to gain entry into this qualification. Please note that this degree does not lead to a teacher qualification in the Queensland school system, but already registered teachers may apply for ESL positions with it. Students with a non-teaching background are qualified for the private TESOL sector, domestic and international.
