Program overview

The Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management is designed for environmental assessment and environmental impact assessment practitioners.

The Graduate Certificate is offered in intensive short course mode and will assist graduates to:

  • follow international trends in environmental assessment and management
  • better understand international and national obligations for environmental assessment and management
  • use integrated adaptive assessment and management tools and techniques to achieve continuous improvement in environmental outcomes
  • more effectively assess and manage complex industrial, infrastructure and urban development proposals using statutory and best practice processes and procedures

Skills will be acquired through a combination of readings, lectures, group discussions, practical projects and use of interactive modelling tools.

Admission requirements

A student entering the Graduate Certificate program will normally be required to hold an undergraduate degree, or equivalent, from a recognised higher education institution. Entry by non-graduates who have extensive relevant industry experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Dean, Faculty of Science, Health and Education.

    Duration: 1 week preparation off campus and 1 week on campus

    Duration: 2 weeks on campus
