If you are interested in building a career in one of the many fields of computer-based visual design and communication then this industry-oriented program is for you.
The Bachelor of Arts (Computer-Based Art and Design) offers
practical and theoretical studies in graphic design, electronic
media design (web and multimedia), digital publishing, visual
communication and advertising.
The program offers the flexibility to combine study in
computer-based art and design with courses, majors or minors from
subject areas such as public relations, communications, creative
writing, Australian and cultural studies, marketing or management,
giving you a degree with many career paths.
Career Opportunities
Knowledge and skills acquired through the Bachelor of Arts (Computer-Based Art and Design) are transferable across many sectors such as government, education, the arts, commerce, and industry. Depending on minor and majors chosen, opportunities may include advertising, graphic design, information visualisation, interpretive design, multimedia design and development, packaging, publishing, visual communication, and web design.

Program Requirements and Notes
- Students undertaking studies in CBAD who have not studied Art at senior level, or who do not have experience with drawing and visual communication, are encouraged to enrol in ADN110 during their first year of study.
- No more than 10 introductory level courses are to be completed, including Core Courses, in the BA(CBAD).
- No courses may be counted towards more than one major or minor.
- A maximum of 6 Business or Science, Health and Education courses (72 units) can be included in the BA(CBAD).
- Required introductory courses may count towards some majors and minors.
- An introductory level course has a number less than 200 in its course code. An advanced level course has a number greater than 200 and less than 400 in its course code.
