Undergraduate Certificate in Nutrition

Do you want to understand how food can be used to improve people's health and wellbeing? This program develops knowledge and skills in the fundamentals of nutrition science. It's designed for professionals working in the allied health, fitness or wellness industries, as school teachers, or in hospitality, community health or physical education, who want to upskill in the field of nutrition. It's also the perfect starting point for a career pathway in human nutrition and food science.

In this program you will:

  • Learn the science behind food and anatomical uses, paddock to plate, the science of eating to fight disease, food composition and nutritional needs across the lifecycle
  • Develop skills to assess sources of nutrition information

In order to graduate you must:

  • Successfully complete 48 units as outlined in the Program Structure
Program notes
  • The Undergraduate Certificate in Nutrition provide a pathway into the Bachelor of Nutrition.
  • Completing this program within the specified (part-time) duration is based on studying 24 unit points per semester (normally 2 courses) and following the recommended study sequence
  • The unit value of all courses is 12 units unless otherwise specified
  • It is each students responsibility to enrol correctly according to your course requisites, program rules and requirements and be aware of the academic calendar dates
  • Courses within this program are assessed using a variety of assessment methods which may include essays, seminar presentations, reports, in-class tests and examinations
