Undergraduate Certificate in Health Promotion Foundations

An introduction to a career in promoting the health and wellbeing of people at individual, community and whole-of-population levels. The Undergraduate Certificate in Health Promotion Foundations provides a direct pathway to the Bachelor of Health Science (Applied Health Promotion), other Health Science extended majors, as well as other undergraduate degrees.

In this program you will:

  • Develop your knowledge and skills in the fundamentals of health promotion
  • Design, implement and evaluate evidence-based health promotion strategies
  • Begin to understand and address health inequities and inequalities
  • Prepare to undertake community health and wellbeing assessments, and plan health promotion action.

In order to graduate you must:

  • Successfully complete 48 units as outlined in the Program Structure
Program notes
  • The Undergraduate Certificate in Health Promotion Foundations provides a pathway to a wide variety of other undergraduate degrees at USC.
  • Completing this program within the specified (full-time) duration is based on studying 48 unit points per semester (normally 4 courses) and following the recommended study sequence
  • The unit value of all courses is 12 units unless otherwise specified
