Our program gives you a solid foundation in business with dedicated studies in international business. Choose to broaden your studies across a range of areas or focus on a niche skill set that speaks to your talents and career desires. You’ll study the principles of international business, cross-cultural management, international marketing, export management, trade and finance, managing global logistics and global e-business.

Learn how to identify corporate social responsibilities in the global business environment and present an international business case to senior managers of regional companies. You’ll get hands-on experience with a regional business developing an international business marketing strategy, international e-plan and website, export plan and managing a business team.

Immerse yourself in another culture and travel overseas to study a semester in another country. Expand your job horizons and study a language as a four-course elective. Our graduates enjoy great success in the international business job market.

Elective courses (9)

Select 9 elective courses. Of the electives, 6 must be advanced level (200/300 coded) courses. A minimum of 3 courses must be from the School of Business, and the remaining 6 electives may be from either faculty (Arts and Business or Science, Health, Education and Engineering).

Program requirements

In order to graduate you must:

  • Complete 7 required introductory level (100 coded) courses.
  • Complete 8 required advanced level (200/300 coded) courses.
  • Complete 9 elective courses, 6 must be advanced level (200/300 coded) courses.
  • (Optional) Use electives to complete a minor (4 courses) to supplement the required major.
  • Complete no more than 10 introductory level (100 coded) courses, including the core course.
  • Complete no more than 6 courses from the School of Communication, School of Social Sciences or Faculty of Science, Health, Education and Engineering.
  • Register any selected Majors or Minors with the Faculty of Arts and Business.
Program notes
  • Completing this program within the specified (full-time) duration is based on studying 48 unit points per semester (normally 4 courses).
  • Courses within this program are assessed using a variety of assessment methods including essays, seminar presentations, reports, in-class tests and examinations. Not all courses will necessarily include all methods.
  • As part of your USC program, you may apply to Study Overseas to undertake courses with an overseas higher education provider. It is advisable to contact your Faculty Program Advisor to discuss timing and course issues.
  • Only a full-time study option is available to international students on a Student Visa.
