Program overview
This program will focus on the deep study of the psychology of learning acquisition, the paradigms of special education provision for students with special needs, and pedagogies, programming and modes of assessment that best facilitate learning across institutions for special needs learners. Further, students enrolled in this program will engage with policy analysis, community based support for special needs learners and team approaches to diagnosis and intervention. Specific attention will be paid to working with students with Intellectual Impairment and Autism Spectrum Disorder and the ways in which such students can be managed and successfully engaged in learning across a range of learning environments.
Admission requirements
An undergraduate degree in psychology or an undergraduate degree with a major or double major in psychology or an undergraduate degree in education or nursing with a strong emphasis in the psychology and/or teaching and learning.
