Program overview

This program is designed for teachers in middle years of schooling or those in non-mathematics senior areas of study who wish to expand their knowledge and understanding to the area of mathematics and develop expertise in response to the new Queensland Studies Authority syllabus in mathematics that is underpinned by a contextual approach to pedagogy.

This program includes three courses in mathematics providing teachers with sufficient knowledge depth in this area and a capping course in contextual science that allows teachers to consolidate their understanding of mathematics and to be responsive to the new syllabus.

Admission requirements

Students must be practising teachers and hold an undergraduate science-based degree. Such a degree must not have a major or minor in mathematics.
