Program overview
The overall purpose of the Bachelor of Education/Bachelor of Science is to provide its graduates with the professional studies knowledge and skills, along with discipline expertise in at least two teaching areas, in order to teach students in the middle (years 8 and 9) and senior phases of learning (years 10–12).
The purpose of the program is to develop teachers who draw on discipline knowledge in order to teach within disciplinary frameworks, as well as within integrated curriculum structures, which are based on inquiry and problem-solving within real-world or life-like contexts.
In this combined degree, which is designed to be completed in four years of full-time study, students are required to complete 32 x 12 unit courses, with 16 of these being professional studies and 16 being discipline studies.
