Program overview
This program does not accredit graduates for teacher registration in Australian states but may be suitable for those undertaking training opportunities, teaching in private industry, or education consultancy. It may be considered as a prerequisite program for entering an accredited teacher education program and also provide professional development opportunities for teachers, trainers and educators who are already accredited with a teacher registration authority. There will be two pathways and two entry points into this program.
Admission requirements
To be considered for entry into this program applicants must satisfy one of the following entry requirements:
- one year full-time (or equivalent) of a degree (or equivalent) with a minimum grade point average of four (on a seven-point scale)
- one year full-time (or equivalent) of a degree (or equivalent) (on a seven-point scale) plus two years full-time (or equivalent) relevant work experience
- AQF Diploma (or equivalent) plus one year full-time (or equivalent) relevant work experience
- incomplete VET and higher education studies (ie VET Certificate III to postgraduate qualifications) of a collective two years full-time (or equivalent) study with a minimum grade point average of four (on a seven-point scale) plus three years full-time (or equivalent) relevant work experience
- a trade certificate (or equivalent) plus five years full-time (or equivalent) relevant work experience
- relevant study or informal training of a minimum of two years full-time (or equivalent)
Applicants may be required to attend an interview.
