Program overview

The Graduate Certificate in Tourism Management is designed for:

  • graduates in areas other than tourism who want to upgrade their educational qualifications in tourism management
  • practitioners, owners and operators currently working in the tourism industry without formal qualifications who want to obtain an award and improve their understanding of various aspects of tourism enterprise

This Graduate Certificate consists of four courses and articulates into the eight-course Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management. Courses in the Graduate Certificate cover tourism management, tourist behaviour, ecotourism, sustainable tourism, planning and development.

Admission requirements

Students entering the Graduate Certificate in Tourism Management program will be required to have an undergraduate degree, in a discipline other than tourism, from a recognised higher education institution.

Non-graduates who have extensive professional tourism industry or management experience, and who can demonstrate their capacity to successfully complete the program, may be considered for entry on an individual basis by the Dean.

The program is currently offered to Australian and New Zealand citizens, and Australian permanent residents.
