Program overview

The purpose of the program is to graduate teachers and childcare workers who have developed deep insights into the knowledges, policies and preferred practices of human services that enhance family structures, community development and the welfare of young children growing up in contemporary and future societies. The Human Services component of the course will allow students to major in human services practice and will prepare graduates to work in community contexts with a broad client group including young children and families. Further the construction of education, developmental learning and child care practices will be the focus of study across the program ensuring the development of early childhood teachers and childcare workers who have deep knowledge in the key areas of study such as psychology, learning, curriculum development and pedagogy in the early years.
