When to apply for credit

Advanced standing is assessed at the application stage for International, Study Abroad, Exchange and Postgraduate coursework students. To facilitate timely processing of applications for advanced standing so that student enrolment choices can be confirmed as early as possible, all other students are strongly encouraged to lodge their application by the end of Week 1 of their first semester of study. All applications should be lodged within the first two semesters of study of a full-time enrolment or its equivalent for part-time students. Note: International students should contact International Relations in the first instance.

Notification

Applicants for credit and advanced standing will be notified in writing by Student Administration of the outcome of their application.

Cross-institutional study

Provisional advanced standing will be granted for a nominated course to be undertaken by cross-institutional study at the time of application. The subsequent award of advanced standing will be dependent on:
(a) the applicant providing an original official academic transcript showing the result obtained in the completed course.
(b) assessment by the Dean's Delegate that the result obtained in the course is a pass grade or above.
