Program overview

The Graduate Certificate in Wetlands Management is designed for wetland managers and people working as practitioners in the fields of natural resources management, environmental planning and environmental management.

The Graduate Certificate is offered in intensive short course mode and provides practical skills in adaptive environmental assessment and integrated management systems.

The Graduate Certificate in Wetlands Management assists graduates to:

  • follow international trends in environmental assessment and management
  • understand international and national obligations to environmental assessment and management of wetland environments
  • utilise management tools and techniques to achieve continuous improvement in environmental outcomes in wetland areas

Skills will be acquired through a combination of readings, lectures, group discussions, practical projects and the use of interactive modelling tools.

Admission requirements

A student entering the Graduate Certificate program will normally be required to hold an undergraduate degree, or equivalent, from a recognised higher education institution. Entry by non-graduates who have extensive relevant industry experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Dean, Faculty of Science, Health and Education.
