Elective Courses for Specialised Areas of Interest

Students may undertake a program of study that incorporates a specialised area of interest. It is not compulsory for students to undertake any of these areas of interest. Areas of interest are not named on the student's academic record unless the combination of courses completed meets the specific requirements of approved university Majors or Minors.

Specialised areas of interest include, but are not limited to the following:

Workplace health - could include courses in human resource management from the Faculty of Business, and psychology courses from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

Physical activity - could include courses in sport and exercise from the Faculty of Science, Health and Education, courses in sports sociology from the Faculty of Arts and Social Science, and courses in sports marketing from the Faculty of Business

Community health - could include courses in social and community studies from the Faculty of Arts and Social Science

International health - could include courses in language, politics and social and community studies from the Faculty of Arts and Social Science, and courses in international business from the Faculty of Business

Social marketing - could include courses in public relations from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and courses in marketing from the Faculty of Business

Health journalism - could include courses in journalism from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

Health psychology - could include courses in psychology from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Science, Health and Education
