Entry Requirements

An undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognised higher education institution is the minimum requirement for entering the Master of International Business program. No work experience is required.

Applications are also invited from candidates who do not have an undergraduate degree. These applications will receive special consideration from the Dean of Business, who has the discretion to waive the educational requirement if it is considered the candidate is likely to be successful at postgraduate study and would benefit from the program.

Applicants whose first language is other than English must demonstrate an appropriate level of English proficiency by providing evidence of one of the required qualifications.

Advanced Standing

Students with an Undergraduate Degree

No advanced standing will be granted to students with an undergraduate qualification, however, substitution will be permitted in certain circumstances.

Students who have completed two or more courses on a single topic can substitute that same MIntBus course for another. For example, if a student has completed a major in Accounting, they can replace Accounting for Managers with a course from the Master of Financial Planning or similar.

Students with Postgraduate Qualifications

Students who have completed postgraduate subjects elsewhere may apply for one course of advanced standing up to a maximum of 50% for the Master of International Business, Graduate Certificate in International Business and the Graduate Diploma in International Business. The content of the courses would need to overlap University of the Sunshine Coast course content by least 70%.

Only students who have completed a Graduate Diploma in International Business at another recognised higher education institution will be eligible for eight courses of advanced standing.
