Dr Timothy Lee

Adjunct Associate Professor

Dr Timothy Lee was an Associate Professor in USC Business School. He is the Founding Director of the APRI-HOT (Asia Pacific Research Institute for Health-Oriented Tourism) and his research interests include medical/wellness/health tourism, ethnic identity issues in the tourism industry, cultural heritage tourism, and tourism development which incorporate East Asian values. He has published more than 80 refereed journal articles including 50 in A+ or A listed in the ABDC (Australian Business Dean Council) rankings. He also published 30 refereed book chapters and 70 academic conference proceedings. He is a member of the Editorial Board in ten leading academic journals including Tourism Management, and Journal of Travel Research. He also acts as the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Tourism Sciences.

Dr Lee has hosted 10 international academic conferences and serves as the founding chief organizer of the GLOSITH (Global Congress for Special Interest Tourism & Hospitality), and ICOHOT (International Conference of Health-Oriented Tourism). He was awarded 22 international competitive research grants that totaled up to A$1 million. He also serves as a Vice-President of the Tourism Sciences Society of Korea (TOSOK) since 2015 that has 1,000 active members in the tourism/hospitality academia in South Korea and beyond. He was invited to present a guest lecture more than 60 times from 14 countries and regions including Italy, Mexico, Hungary, Switzerland, Macau, and Mongolia.
