All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by close of business, 28 February 2025.
Two equity bursaries to support full-time undergraduate students with Japanese Studies or Accounting majors.
Offered for the first time in Semester 1, 2025, the Michael Cameron Study Support Bursary was established to honour the memory of Michael Cameron, former Vice-President of Queensland Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QJCCI) and former Director of Hall Chadwick Qld, and his significant and valued contribution to both organisations.
In recognition of Michael's interests and esteemed career, one bursary each year shall be awarded to a student of Japanese and the second to an Accounting student.
Each bursary is valued at $2,500 and will be paid as a lump sum payment approximately three weeks after Census Date in Semester 1.
Please note: This bursary is offered on a yearly basis through funds provided by an external donor. If funding is not available in any given year, the bursary will not be awarded.
- Eligibility
- continuing full-time undergraduate student having successfully completed a minimum of 96 units (8 courses)
- minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0
- Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, Permanent Australian Humanitarian Visa holder or Permanent Resident of Australia
In each year, one bursary will be awarded to a student with a Japanese Studies major (or minor if no eligible applications from applicants with a major are received).
Another bursary will be awarded to a student enrolled in:
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)
- Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)
- Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)
- any undergraduate program with an Accounting major
- Selection criteria
- financial need
- hours worked in paid employment or commitment to activities that impact on the time available for the student to study (e.g. compulsory fieldwork placement, significant carer responsibilities)
- academic merit
