STAGE TWO NOW OPEN
Take a tour of our Moreton Bay Stage two campus upgrade.
Stage one - opened 2020
The first cohort of students started at UniSC Moreton Bay in March 2020 once the foundation building was completed. The site, which will continue to be developed over time, is right next to the Petrie train station and part of the former Petrie Paper Mill.
UniSC Moreton Bay is the first full-service university campus ever built in the region, delivering more education opportunities for local students. UniSC Moreton Bay’s 16,000 sqm foundation facility has everything you’d expect from a world-class university – all conveniently located within three levels under one roof.
The first stage was designed by award-winning architects Hassell Studios and built by national construction company Hansen Yuncken. The foundation building includes:
- A flexible 460-seat capacity auditorium for teaching and community events
- $15 million worth of state-of-the-art technology
- Nursing simulation and science labs, including a large "Super lab" facility where experiments using chemicals can be safely carried out
- Engineering labs, with specialist areas for robotics, advanced manufacturing, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, geomechanics and civil construction
- Library, Student Services and Support facilities, and café/retail shops
A university in the heart of Petrie
Adjacent to the Petrie train station, a major public bus interchange and the Petrie to Kippa-Ring shared cycle/walking path, UniSC Moreton Bay also includes the largest end-of-trip facilities of any UniSC campus, so more people can walk, run, or ride to the university precinct.
By 2035, we expect UniSC Moreton Bay to be equal in size to our flagship UniSC Sunshine Coast campus, with 10,000 students enrolled and more than 100 degrees on offer.
