Finishing Year 12? (Or recently graduated?)
There are plenty of pathways to uni. Admission to USC is based on applicants meeting the entry requirements for our programs. They can be met in a variety of ways, depending on the pathway you choose to take.
ATAR Eligible
Applicants with an Australian Year 12 qualification or an international equivalent can apply for undergraduate study at USC via QTAC. For information regarding current Year 12 qualifications, please visit school leaver applications.
ATAR ineligible students will not receive a selection rank. ATAR ineligible students will need to gain entry through another pathway such as VET or the Tertiary Preparation Pathway.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
Applicants with a completed International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma will be assigned a selection rank based on the score from your completed IB Diploma. Refer to QTAC International Baccalaureate (IB) studies for further information.
Previous QLD Year 12
Students who completed Year 12 in Queensland (OP eligible or ineligible) prior to 2020, will have their grades converted to a selection rank by QTAC.
TAFE/vocational studies
A TAFE / AQF (Australian Qualification Framework) Certificate III or IV can also provide an entry pathway to USC. In some cases, you may be eligible for credit for prior learning.
Early Offer Guarantee
The Early Offer Guarantee enables Year 12 students to be offered an early and guaranteed place at USC prior to the release of Year 12 results. Offers are made to students based on the approval of their School Principal.
Tertiary Preparation Pathway (TPP)
If you don’t meet the entry requirements of your chosen program or would like to improve your academic skills before enrolling in a degree, the Tertiary Preparation Pathway (TPP) is a bridging course that can help you access university study.
Diplomas
USC offers a range of one-year diplomas designed to give you foundational knowledge and skills. After successfully completing a diploma, you can apply for up to a year’s credit towards a bachelor’s degree. For more information visit Uni pathways.
Indigenous Direct Entry and Access Scheme (IDEAS)
If you identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, you may be given direct entry to a program based on your potential to succeed through IDEAS. To be eligible for IDEAS, applicants must complete the online form.
