Fostering Trust and Credibility Through Informed and Honest Communications

This course is designed for allied health practitioners, including psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and physiotherapists who want to develop their business, enhance their marketing skills and better communicate with potential clients who could benefit from your services.

In this course you will learn about:
  • Describing the potential benefits of your programs and services for clients.
  • Creating and managing the reputation of your private practice.
  • Communicating clearly and effectively with potential clients.
  • Navigating and complying with Ahpra's advertising guidelines.

Meet the presenter

Dr Jacqueline Burgess is a multi-award-winning educator based at University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. She has consulted for various businesses and her research has been covered by national and international media. Jacqueline has taught marketing courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and direct to industry. Jacqueline is passionate about supporting healthcare professionals to discover how ethical marketing practices can build reputation through clear, consistent communication and support potential clients to understand the potential benefits of services.

Meet the presenter

Dr Anita Hamilton has practiced occupational therapy in hospital and community settings in mental health, acute care, and vocational rehabilitation. Alongside her husband, a psychologist, she co-leads a thriving private practice. Anita teaches occupational therapy at University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland and has been recognised nationally and globally as an innovative educator. As a progressive educator, she is now working to bridge the gap between healthcare and business by pioneering initiatives to enhance the entrepreneurial acumen of allied health professionals.
