Emily is a lecturer in Occupational Therapy, Clinical Education. Emily has experience working across the lifespan, and in diverse health care, community and education settings in Australia and overseas. Her experiences overseas include working in communities to develop programs and build capacity of staff in Vietnam, Fiji and Nauru; and working within the NHS in the United Kingdom. Emily has completed additional postgraduate study in Paediatric OT and International and Community Development out of interest to support OT clinical practice.
Emily started her occupational therapy career as a rural generalist and was then drawn to paediatrics, in acute and community-based roles with an emphasis on child development. Emily has had clinical and non-clinical roles that involved teaching and training, leadership, supervision and management of allied health teams.
Emily is passionate about supporting the learning needs of students and readiness for the workforce, and the translation of research into every day clinical practice.
