Dr Selvan Pather is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of the Sunshine Coast. He is responsible for the development of teaching and research in the Mechanical Engineering program.
He has extensive experience in tertiary level teaching, both in Australia and abroad. He is very passionate about Engineering Education, having developed numerous different strategies to enhance his teaching. Although he has a wide range of research interests, the application of engineering (particularly robotics) into health care is at the forefront of his research.
Selvan’s achievements include the Vice-Chancellor and President's Award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (2015), an Excellence in Teaching Award from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Southern Queensland (2008), an Award for Programs and Services that Enhance Learning (2009), and a citation from the Australasian Association for Engineering Education (2008).
