Dr. Raffaella Belloni holds the Associate Lecturer in Economics position within the School of Business and Creative Industries (SCBI). Transitioning from diverse roles in accounting and business across international settings, Raffaella commenced her journey at UniSC as a sessional staff member in 2014. Elevated to the role of Associate Lecturer in Economics in July 2017, she now oversees the coordination of Economics courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Raffaella has a deep passion for education and is particularly enthusiastic about fostering student engagement, with a special focus on first-year and international students.

Her commitment to enhancing the learning experience has been recognised through the attainment of internal grants to develop student-led initiatives within the First Year Economics course, as well as accolades from the school for her exemplary teaching and engagement methods.

Beyond the classroom, Raffaella has been privileged to share her expertise as a guest lecturer in Economics at the esteemed Zhejiang Financial College in China for three consecutive years. Her extensive background in commercial roles before academia enables her to seamlessly intertwine economic concepts with real-world applications, enriching the educational experience for her students.

Recently awarded a PhD in labour economics, Raffaella looks forward to contributing her skills and knowledge to further the field of applied economics with a particular focus on topics related to the following Sustainable Development Goals: no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, reduced inequalities and sustainability.
