Dr Lynlea Small

Dr Lynlea Small joined the UniSC School of Business and Creative Industries in March 2021. In February 2024 she was appointed as Lecturer in WIL.

Lynlea’s research centres around work integrated learning and graduate employability. Her PhD was an Australian- first study about how relationships between workplace supervisors and business student interns enhance graduate employability. Lynlea has delivered her research at conferences in Australia and the USA. Lynlea was the chief investigator on a recent School research project titled: Developing good practice work integrated learning (WIL) in the School of Business and Creative Industries. She is now chief investigator on a School research project titled: Utilising the CareerEDGE Employability Development Profile and UniSC graduate attributes to measure WIL students’ and their supervisors/mentors perceptions of WIL students employability.

Lynlea is passionate about facilitating university collaborations in the form of WIL placements and WIL projects across a wide range of organisations and businesses in South-east Queensland. Her end goal is to foster career opportunities for UniSc students and to support networking and business development opportunities for all participating stakeholders.

Outside of academia, in October 2022 Lynlea’s book The Vo Rogue Show was published by Melbourne Books. In May 2024 the book was one of only eight Australian Horse Racing books short-listed for the prestigious Bill Whittaker Book Award.
