Dr Aaron Wiegand was awarded his PhD in computational modelling of atmospheric chemistry from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 1998. Since 2005, Dr Wiegand has been a lecturer of mathematics at the University of the Sunshine Coast, but his experience in the physical sciences allows him to teach in many areas, including chemistry, physics and environmental modelling.
In addition to his own interests in air pollution and atmospheric chemistry, Dr Wiegand extends his research skills in programming and computational analysis to topics as diverse as genetics, microbiology, the growth and propagation of plants and forests, as well as sports science topics such as VO2 and Lactate dynamics, and biomechanics.
