Cherie was recently employed to lead the development of the new Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) program at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Cherie has been involved in multiple new Bachelor of Physiotherapy program set-ups across Australia including Western Sydney University, University of Canberra, Griffith University, and Charles Sturt University (Port Macquarie campus).
Cherie has been a registered physiotherapist for more than 2 decades, after completing her Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy at the University of Sydney, a Master in Manipulative Therapy at Curtin University, and PhD at Western Sydney University. She is a passionate educator, researcher, and clinician and has extensive experience in physiotherapy curriculum development and delivery at multiple universities, and clinical education.
Her PhD focused on the use of Pilates by physiotherapists to treat chronic low back pain, however, she has broad research interests related to musculoskeletal physiotherapy, interprofessional education and preparation of graduates for future employment.
