April Martin is a lecturer of nursing and a Clinical Program Coordinator for the Fraser Coast region. Her background and training is from Florida, United States where she worked in various hospital medical/surgical wards, paediatrics and intensive care. April immigrated to Australia in 2009 and worked as a clinical nurse at the Hervey Bay Hospital Intensive/Coronary Care Unit before becoming a lecturer of nursing.
April is currently working towards her PhD and her research interests include the social practices of nurses and Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis.
In her free time she enjoys biking, walking along the beautiful Hervey Bay beaches and snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef.
