USC International student from the Philippines

Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology)

At USC, there are so many people who want to mentor you and help you to get through your course or program. In the Psychology department, there are drop-in sessions to help you. You can also email lecturers anytime and ask them what you want to know. The drop-ins also help with doing assignments. It’s very high-tech. I like it.

I can’t believe we live near the beach!

Instead of big infrastructures distracting me, I have nature doing its part and surprising me every single day. Australian culture is really open. Here, everyone talks.

I want to work with corporations like the World Health Organisation (WHO) helping out children and refugees with post-traumatic stress as a result of human-made or nature-made tragedies.

Or, I would like to go home and do counselling – do something for my people. Stereotypically, they just want to work in areas where there’s money. I’d like to show them that success lies in other areas and encourage people to do more than that -- to grow and do what they want to do and enjoy it. That will help us grow as a nation.
