Alumni benefits
Congratulations on becoming a UniSC Graduate. So what's changed with your access to library resources?
You can still access some library databases off campus, but you will access them through a different website. You will need to register each year if you wish to keep borrowing physical items.
Keep reading below to learn more.
Alumni access to databases
Alumni are eligible for off-campus access to selected Library databases for non-commercial purposes. No registration is required to use these databases.
Select a database from the list, then login using your university network username and password. Contact the Student IT Help Desk to reset your password if necessary.
Note: Alumni Databases are listed on a separate webpage.
Access to library buildings
You are welcome to visit the library during community hours.
Library spaces
You are welcome to bring your own device and use the library spaces for individual, private study.
Note: Alumni cannot access Eduroam or book group study rooms.
Library membership for borrowing
Register online for library membership to borrow from the physical collections. A Library card will be provided which is required for borrowing physical items and to login to My Library Account.
Note: Your Library card is not your UniSC Student ID card.
My Library Account
My Library Account is where you will check the due date for current loans and renew them if applicable. To login, select Other Borrowers Login and enter the barcode number on your library card. Enter the password you provided when you registered for membership.
Note: this is not your UniSC student email and password.
Physical collections
Each library provides a physical General Collection of books and learning materials which support the courses delivered at that campus.
Search for physical items (e.g. books) through the online catalogue and refine to books. Find the item on the shelf using the unique call number for that item.
Borrow from physical collection
A community borrowing card is required for in-person borrowing through the self-check kiosk. Login to My Library Account to renew your loans and check the due date. Return items to any campus library by the due date.
Visit Borrowing to learn more about how many items you can borrow, how long you can keep them and fines for late returns.
Online resources (on campus)
On campus, Alumni may use a Library Catalogue PC to search for and access a wide variety of online resources including ebooks, journal articles and discipline-specific databases.
Some resources can be downloaded and saved to a USB or external hard drive for non-commercial purposes.
Need help?
UniSC Alumni may contact the library via online chat, email, telephone, or visit the library help desk on campus during staffed hours.
Visit the How to Guides for guidance on searching and using library resources.
