Student support at USC

University can be an exciting and sometimes unfamiliar journey, but know that your child is supported throughout the entire process with USC. From academic, careers and AccessAbility support to counselling, health, IT and financial assistance — we've got you covered.

Academic and study support

Your child can access a range of learning resources and support, including online advice, one-to-one support, student-led support and academic skills workshop. We have trained professionals that can help with task management, researching, referencing, academic writing and more. There is also peer assisted and drop-in study support sessions to help students improve grades and connect with peers, or your child can join the Study Buddies program and receive study tips from experienced student leaders.

Student wellbeing

While learning new knowledge and skills at university helps to keep the brain active, we know that university can also be a stressful time. USC provides a range of information and services to help maintain positive mental health and wellbeing. Your child can access free counselling services, health and fitness programs, as well as support for mental and physical wellbeing.

Indigenous Services

If your child identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, they can access academic mentoring, learning spaces and support services in a culturally safe environment.

Student Success team

We have a dedicated Student Success team to help your child settle into uni, talk with them about their studies and connect them to information and support services so they can succeed at university.

AccessAbility services

If your child’s studies are affected by a disability, learning disorder, mental health issue, injury or illness, USC’s AccessAbility services can provide access to appropriate reasonable adjustments and practical advice about the support and facilities available to them throughout the University.

Careers and employability

We can help your child enhance their employability and achieve their career goals. Whether they are in their first year or final year, the Careers and Employability team offers workshops, consultations, self-guided resources, and leadership opportunities to build your child’s skills and ensure they are industry ready.
