Mr Tim Fairfax AC — Foundation Patron

Mr Tim Fairfax AC is a Company Director, Pastoralist and Philanthropist. Tim is Chairman of the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation, and the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR). He is Director of the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation Pty Ltd, Vincent Fairfax Ethics in Leadership Foundation Pty Ltd, Ningana Giving Pty Limited, Cambooya Pty Ltd/Cambooya Services Pty Ltd, and Rawbelle Management Pty Ltd.

He is President of the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art Foundation, a member of the National Portrait Gallery Foundation, National Gallery of Australia Foundation and Australian Schools Plus.

Tim is Patron of the AMAQ Foundation, the University of the Sunshine Coast Foundation, the Flying Arts Alliance Incorporated, the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation and the Actors' & Entertainers' Benevolent Fund (Qld) Incorporated.

Tim takes an active leadership role in promoting philanthropy in Australia. He is passionate about supporting rural, remote and regional communities, particularly students from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Tim has a range of business interests. He is the Principal of Aminya Pastoral Company and operates nine rural properties in Queensland and New South Wales involving beef cattle, fine wool and grain.

Graham Tamblyn — Chair

Graham Tamblyn, FIEAust, CPEng, FAICD, FUDIA has been a resident of the Sunshine Coast since 1975. Since commencing work with Cardno and Davies Consulting Engineers in 1973, he has made a significant contribution to the coastal community on major urban projects involving civil infrastructure, waterways and environmental solutions. He is an experienced civil engineer in the urban development field, directing the design and construction management of such notable projects as Kawana Waters master planned community, Twin Waters, Pelican Waters, Noosa Waters and Brightwater residential communities.

Graham served as Sunshine Coast Branch President of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (Queensland) for 6 years and in 2010 was awarded Life Membership.

At a corporate level, Graham served as Deputy Chairman of Cardno Limited (ASX:CDD) from 2004 to 2010. Prior to this, in Cardno as a private company, from appointment as a director in 1987, he also held various positions with the Cardno Group including Managing Director, Chairman, and Deputy Chairman.

The University of the Sunshine Coast is at the forefront of this ideal, so my involvement on the UniSC Foundation Board is another way I can make a positive contribution.”

Graham established an annual Engineering Scholarship at UniSC in 2010 through until 2019 upon his retirement.

Grant Ferry

Grant Ferry is a senior business and community leader with 25 years' experience working in areas of regional development, investment and commercial and community project management.

With a significant career in news and media, including four years as GM of Sunshine Coast Newspaper Company, Grant's focus on collaboration, stakeholder management and strategic influence have been key to developing entrepreneurial programs, alliances and training initiatives.

Grant is a tenacious advocate for the Sunshine Coast region and sees his role on the Foundation Board as a way to help build a strong university and in turn create a prosperous region.

Chris Harris

Chris Harris is a Senior Financial Planner and Investment Adviser with Ord Minnett Sunshine Coast. Chris started in Ords Head Office in Sydney in 2002 and moved to the Coast in 2004. Prior to working with Ord Minnett, Chris worked in taxation at KPMG Sydney and with an accounting firm in North Sydney.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Financial Administration (Accountancy) and a Masters of Commerce (Taxation). He is also a Certified Practicing Accountant, SMSF Specialist Advisor with the Self-Managed Super Fund Association, and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Gail Hunter

Gail Hunter has become a renowned professional in the real estate industry since moving to Queensland from Victoria in 1992. With extensive experience in both property management
and off the plan sales, her expertise, knowledge and communication skills, provides her clients peace of mind throughout the property investment.

Gail formed H2O Property in 2007 to provide an informative and transparent property service to the community and Gail has become a leader in the field of project marketing and is well respected by her clients, peers and industry professionals.

Gail focuses her charity support in the Sunshine Coast region, advocating for Sunny Kids, Police Youth Program, Cindy McKenzie Breast Cancer Foundation, Bloomhill, Heart Foundation. Gail regularly supports charities in third world countries and appeals for emergency funding in times of disaster.

Karen Neuendorf, OAM - Deputy Chair

Karen Neuendorf is well-known in the Sunshine Coast business community as a respected interior designer, business woman, and philanthropist, sought-after adviser and lecturer in her field. Currently studying a bachelor of Social Science at UniSC, enables a deeper perspective of student life for Karen, providing knowledge to the board for optimal student engagement and support.

Karen is passionate about playing an active role in the University's future direction, utilising her diverse networks in the community. In 2021, Karen was awarded an Honorary Senior Fellow in recognition of her significant contribution to the development of the University and of the Sunshine Coast region.

Her involvement in numerous community and corporate groups includes five terms as President of the Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network championing many quality programs for women in business, three years as President of Sunny Kids Inc. and at present is a board member of the Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation.

Jocelyn Walker

A long time resident of the Sunshine Coast, Jocelyn Walker has been a Foundation Board member now for 26 years.

The former operator of Moby Vic's 24 hour roadhouses, Jocelyn is mostly involved in commercial development these days.

Roz White

Roz White is an award-winning business leader with 28 years’ experience, a charity volunteer and leading advocate for various industry groups. Roz is the co-owner of White’s IGA Group & White’s Commercial Property Group employing 400 people in the Sunshine Coast community.

Roz has held leadership positions including board chair and is a mentor and regular speaker at trade and industry events. Roz is a current member the University of the Sunshine Coast Foundation Board and USC Business School External Academic Advisory Committee, a past board director of Montrose Therapy & Respite Services, advisory member of the Queensland Community Foundation (Sunshine Coast) and Immediate Past President of the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network.

Roz was recognised as the SCBWN Outstanding Business Woman of the Year in 2015 and named Owner/Entrepreneur Leader of the Year in 2016 by the Australian Institute of Management. Roz was inducted in the IGA Hall of Fame in 2017 as the first independent female, a prestigious honour and significant milestone for women in the supermarket industry. Roz was also a Telstra Business Woman of the Year finalist in 2019 and has been awarded multiple national and state industry retail excellence & community awards over the past 20 years, most recently 2021 IGA National Store of the Year and National Customer Service Award, 2021 Qld & Northern NSW Lions Medical Research Foundation Community Service Award and 2021 Sunshine Coast Large Retail Business Award. Roz was recently appointed as Chair, Sunshine Coast 2032 Paralympics Committee.
