The University of the Sunshine Coast Art Gallery gives artists a professional platform for the presentation of their work and ideas. Being located within a university means knowledge exchange and creation is at the core of what we do. We value artistic enquiry and expression and are supported by artists, lenders, donors, curators, researchers, philanthropic partners, funding bodies, sponsors, corporate partners and the community who share this value.
The support we receive is visionary. Our collection has grown into the largest public collection of art on the Sunshine Coast due to the support of benefactors. In 2004, a purpose-built gallery was established funded exclusively by our community of donors and in 2020, we completed an ambitious redevelopment made possible through the generosity of the late Arija Austin.
New philanthropic partners, patrons and supporters are always welcome. For further information or to discuss opportunities please contact us.

UniSC Contemporaries
UniSC Contemporaries are a group of art enthusiasts, benefactors and collectors that contribute to the growth and development of the Art Collection. Each year, the Contemporaries help to shape the Collection by nominating to support the Art Gallery through commissioning and acquisition of contemporary artwork.
Contemporaries contribute a minimum annual tax-deductible donation of $5000 to UniSC. These funds are then used to commission work by one or more of the exhibiting artists.
Contemporaries are acknowledged collectively by the group name in the artwork credit lines, and individually on the Art Gallery website and UniSC Donor Wall.

Give art
UniSC is the custodian of the largest public collection of art on the Sunshine Coast. At over 850 artworks the collection is an important cultural resource that is drawn from for exhibitions at the Art Gallery and other public institutions throughout Australia, used in teaching and learning, and exhibited across our campuses.
A gift of artwork can be made as a direct gift, a Cultural Gift via the Australian Government Cultural Gifts Program, or as a Bequest.
University art holdings constitute a significant quota of our nations cultural heritage. When you give art to UniSC know that it will be cared for so it can be enjoyed by our community now and into the future.
