The exhibition brought together a collective of painters, print-makers, sculptors, ceramic artists and friends who also happened to be art teachers at the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE, Tewantin.

For each of the artists, teaching provides a means of substantial connection to the world outside their studio practice and against the inevitable solitude of the work life of a studio artist. The classroom is a place where they can discuss their thoughts and those of their students and others.

It is the opportunity to talk with fresh and curious minds about all kinds of art, of the world today, of new ideas and methods.The stories from the studio provide answers to an artist's wide-ranging investigations and the interactions with their medium of choice—paint, video,  clay, whatever—and the outcomes of this process.
