In 2012 Sunshine Coast architect John Mainwaring, HonDUniv (USC), donated his considerable personal art collection to USC. Mainwaring was co-designer of the multi-award winning USC Library and he is nationally recognised as a leader in sub-tropical architecture.
He made this significant donation to maintain his close ties with the University and to make his collection available to the public. In addition to the artwork, he made available his writings on how art and his art collection has informed his architecture.
The exhibition highlights the richness and diversity of a collection created by a person with a fine eye for art, aesthetic and design.
