Held in conjunction with International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, Present-ing Fierce is Mitch Runcie's first full length performance and the outcome of a mentorship that Mitch has undertaken with choreographer, performer and movement educator Fiona Rachel Bryant, and dancer Rob McCreddie.

The performance followed by Q&A with Mitch and Fiona.

Choreographer's Foreword

"I met Mitch around six months ago through his work in the Spiral Dance Company and Sunshine Troupe Inc. Mitch experiences both an intellectual disability and identifies as part of the LGBT community–these two things presenting challenge and inspiring artistic response. Through Skype, I have been able to connect Mitch with my dear friend and dancer Rob McCreddie who lives in Bega in NSW. The dance Mitch has created is a mediation on the multi colors that represent being gay. I believe that through the collaboration between Mitch and Rob toward the creation of a dance, a very special social, political and spiritual reflection is born." Fiona Rachel Bryant

Mitch Runcie has established himself as a very passionate dancer, actor and performer through work the Sunshine Troupe Inc. and Access Arts in Brisbane. Last year he was chosen to participate in the prestigious Royal Ballet workshops in Brisbane–a highlight of his dancing career to date. Two years in a row Mitch has performed at Having a Say conference in Geelong, Victoria. Just last week Mitch performed with the Sunshine Troupe Inc. at the Anywhere Festival. On this occasion, he danced a key part in Abandoned–a work using dance and drama to share experiences of physical and emotional abandonment toward restoration and renewed hope. He hopes to create many more works to share with audiences in years to come.
