Six USC athletes are competing in Tokyo Games

The University of the Sunshine Coast is cheering on its six athletes competing at the Tokyo Olympic Games in the sports of swimming, marathon swimming, softball and cycling.

Profiles on each of the athletes are featured on our special Aiming for Games Glory webpage, which also includes an interview with a USC student who plans to one day represent Australia in the new Olympic sport of surfing.

There are two USC students competing in Tokyo, with Master of Teaching (Secondary) student Kaia Parnaby in the Australian softball team and Computer Science student William (Bill) Thorley representing Hong Kong in the 10km open water marathon swimming.

Two USC alumni are in the mix, with Sport and Exercise Science graduate Leah Neale part of the Australian 4x200m freestyle team and Primary Education graduate Kareena Lee in the 10km open water marathon swimming. (The image of Kareena, above, has been provided by Swimming Australia)

And there are two representatives of USC's High Performance Sporting teams: USC Spartans Swimming Club member Kaylee McKeown in the 100m and 200m backstroke events; and Pro Racing Sunshine Coast track cyclist Maeve Plouff in the team pursuit event and possibly the Madison relay.
