USC has continued to score five-star ratings in key areas of student satisfaction, such as teaching quality and overall experience, in the annual Good Universities Guide.

The 2021 edition of the guide, released today by Good Education Media, awarded five stars to USC across six categories – teaching quality (for the 15th consecutive year), overall experience (ninth consecutive year), learning resources (fifth consecutive year), skills development, social equity, and first generation.

USC Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students) Professor Denise Wood AM said the guide, which uses nationwide student and graduate surveys and national higher education data, awards five-star ratings to only the top 20 percent of Australian universities in each category.

“Our excellent ratings across multiple categories demonstrate that we continue to offer outstanding opportunities and outcomes for students across our regions,” Professor Wood said.

“I am particularly proud that we are now recognised in the ‘first generation’ category for the support and guidance we offer learners who are the first in their family to study at university.” 

Professor Wood said five-star ratings were also awarded within fields of study, with USC shining particularly in the fields of Architecture and Building, and Agriculture and Environmental Studies.

“USC’s Bachelor of Urban Design and Town Planning (Honours) earned us Australia’s top result in the Architecture and Building field of study for overall experience, teaching quality and skills development,” she said.

“This is testament to the quality of our teaching and graduate outcomes in urban planning at USC, and the glowing feedback from our students and graduates.

“As well as this, USC gained the highest results in Queensland in the field of Agriculture and Environmental Studies for overall experience, teaching quality, learner engagement, learning resources, skills development and starting salary.”
