Compassion, communication and time management are skills that double USC graduate Ashleigh Johnson takes into work each day at Caboolture Hospital.

The 24-year-old registered nurse from Caboolture received her second USC degree, a Bachelor of Midwifery, at a recent ceremony on the Sunshine Coast.

Ashleigh said returning to university to study had reinforced and expanded a range of knowledge and skills, based on the importance of caring for each patient as an individual.

“I work on a general medical ward which involves many different day-to-day situations,” said the 2016 Bachelor of Nursing Science graduate.

“I have always wanted to work in the healthcare industry to help others in need.

“One day I hope to be able to use both my qualifications and work overseas.”

The former student of Caboolture and Kingaroy state high schools said she chose to study again at USC after enjoying the first experience.

“I really enjoyed the campus at Sippy Downs, and the nursing labs set the standard in providing accurate settings for teaching,” she said.
