Narangba student enrols in Psychology

A Narangba student and keen photographer has enrolled in Psychology at USC to pursue her goal of working in art therapy.

Isabelle Gorton, 18, who graduated last year from Southern Cross Catholic College at Redcliffe, said she was delighted to receive an offer for USC’s Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology).

“My favourite high school subjects were biology and visual art,” said the OP5 recipient.

“After researching online and listening to a USC presentation at my school, I thought it would be a welcoming community, with the study options and facilities I wanted.

“It’s also a good travel distance between home and the Sippy Downs campus.”

Ms Gorton said she was looking forward to helping the wider community through her career, after a rewarding involvement with the school’s Interact club from Years 7 to 12.

“We worked with Rotary on projects such Clean Up Australia, sponsorships, and assisting people with disabilities.”

After attending a preparatory session this week at USC, Ms Gorton will make the most of Orientation activities in the week starting Monday 18 February.

USC Sunshine Coast Orientation will include information sessions, market stalls, student clubs and entertainment.

USC Moreton Bay will open at Petrie in 2020, offering almost 50 undergraduate degree programs including business, education, computer science and mechatronics.

Applications remain open to study at USC in Semester 1 2019. www.usc.edu.au/learn
