USC staged a special ceremony on 9 October to honour those who have made donations to the University.
A Celebration of Philanthropy event, hosted by Chancellor Air Chief Marshal Sir Angus Houston AK, AFC (Ret’d), was held in the evening at USC’s Innovation Centre Auditorium.
About 200 guests attended, including scholarship and bursary donors and recipients.
USC’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill said philanthropy had played a vital and significant role in USC’s history.
“Our supporters and friends all contribute significantly to our continuing development through donations and bequests, helping students excel in their studies, funding important research, improving our campus, and giving back to our community,” he said.
“Donor-funded scholarships, bursaries and prizes totalling more than $800,000 are now awarded to 300 USC students each year, acknowledging academic achievement and providing financial assistance to help those in greatest need complete their degrees and reach their full potential.
“USC is sincerely grateful to all our supporters for their partnerships and generosity.
Together we are building a stronger community and a better tomorrow.”
