A fun mix of social and academic activities will help more than 150 new students get acquainted with university life at USC’s Fraser Coast campus this Friday.
Orientation will welcome students who have enrolled mid-year in a range of USC study programs, and equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to hit the ground running when Semester 2 gets underway next Monday.
Orientation will begin with an official welcome at 9.30am at the campus in Old Maryborough Road, Pialba.
The new students will join around 400 who are currently enrolled at USC Fraser Coast in degrees including Nursing, Education, Animal Ecology, Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sports Studies, Accounting, Marketing, and Tourism, Leisure and Event Management.
Live music, market stalls and games are the not-so-serious side of a packed Orientation program that incorporates program information sessions and workshops on IT, research fundamentals and academic writing.
Student mentors will conduct campus tours and provide insights into university life, and staff will provide advice on support services, including counselling and study assistance.
